The November issue of Vogue Mexico came with a couple of surprises, first the Vogue Hombre F/W 2012 issue then a special edition issue dedicated to the one an only Frida Kahlo. In this VERY well done magazine they explained step by step how her art and way of living influenced her personal style. Then the reader is taken into this time travel experience where photographs, paintings and poems make the essence of Frida come to live.
This special edition of Vogue Mexico (with the iconic cover of Frida Kahlo for Vogue Paris shot by Nickolas Muray, 1939) is just the intro to an exhibition called “Los Vestidos de Frida Kahlo” (The dresses of Frida Kahlo). The first exhibition in the world that shows the entire closet of the Artist. This exhibition is taken place at La Casa Azul, Frida Kahlo’s old residence in Coyoacan, Mexico City.
The exhibition opened last night and a side from showing her garments, visitors will also be able to see Haute Couture garments from Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci and Jean-Paul Gaultier, among others.
